如果說，傅高義在日本發展戰略上，未能洞察其經濟哲學的失誤；那麼他在鄧小平的中國發展戰略上，未能洞察其背離時代精神、經濟哲學與政治哲學的雙重失誤。


在經濟哲學上，鄧小平的「發展是硬道理」和盲目追求GDP增長，代價豈止於生命力和創造力的無從釋放，其造成的生態破壞、資源浪費、貧富懸殊、治安敗壞、生存環境惡化、官員貪瀆腐敗等等，對人民和國家帶來的損害，恐難以挽回。

在政治哲學上，鄧小平的「中國特色社會主義」，實質是開放式民族主義專政（Nationalist Dictatorship)，違背自由民主、公平正義的時代精神與普世價值。

鄧小平的「一部分人富起來」和「反自由化」大戰略，只是少數權貴階層、跨國公司和大商人掠奪國家，壓榨勞工，扼殺大多人生命力和創造力的惡政。中國多數老百姓仍然既貧窮又不自由。

美教授心口碎大石 釋牛頓定律


美國喬治亞理工學院（Georgia Institute of Technology）教授施威尼（Harry Swinney），前日在上海交通大學的學生面前表演「心口碎大石」（圖），直接用身體來解釋牛頓定律。他先讓人在自己身上放8塊、共重70多斤的石頭，然後着對方揮動大鐵錘。石頭瞬間全部碎開，但他卻毫髮無傷。身高只有160厘米的斯威尼力說﹕「當達一定力度時，質量愈大產生的加速度愈小，因此對躺在大石之下人的身體並沒有帶來多少衝擊，明白這個原理，再瘦弱的人都可以表演。」（

The rhino has lived for millions of years,
Who are we to destroy it, just 'cause of superstitious fears,

Enormous, enchanting, beautiful beast,

Greedy poaches, breaking the laws,

Killing up to two a day,
Imminent extinction!! Please no way !
Listen to these creatures cry out in pain,
Poachers, you should hang your heads in shame ,
The acrid reak of death fills the hunters soul,
Help me please, this is getting out of control.

I saw a rhino, his horn had been cut away,
Barely breathing, unable to smile or play.
